This policy explains what FrequentFlyerTech collects, why, and what you can do about it. We’ve written it to describe what this site actually does rather than to cover every scenario a template might imagine. That makes it shorter than most, and where we don’t collect something, we say so.

What we collect
When you contact us
Our contact form collects the name, email address, and message you provide. We use this only to reply to you and to keep a record of the exchange. We don’t use it for marketing unless you separately sign up.
If you subscribe to our newsletter
We collect your email address, and process it through our email service provider to send you the updates you asked for. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.
When you visit any page
Our hosting provider records standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. These are generated automatically by the web server, are used for security and troubleshooting, and are retained according to our host’s own retention schedule.
Analytics
We do not currently run any analytics or tracking scripts on this site. No Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recording, no fingerprinting.
This may change as the site grows. If we add analytics, we will update this policy and, where the law requires consent, ask for it before any non-essential tracking runs.
Comments
If commenting is enabled on a page and you leave a comment, we store the comment, your name, email address, and IP address. This is standard WordPress behaviour and is used for spam prevention and moderation.
Affiliate links and cookies
This is the part that matters most on a site like ours, so we’ll be specific.
We earn commission when readers buy through our links. See our affiliate disclosure. Those links route through frequentflyertech.com/recommends/ and then redirect to the provider.
We do not set tracking cookies on you ourselves. But when you follow an affiliate link, the provider or their affiliate network will typically set a cookie on their own domain to attribute the referral. That cookie is set by them, governed by their privacy policy, and lasts for a period they determine, commonly 30 days and sometimes considerably longer.
We receive aggregate reporting from those networks (how many referrals converted), not information identifying you personally.
If you’d rather not be tracked by a provider, visit them directly instead of through our links. We’d obviously rather you used ours, but you should know the choice exists.
Who we share data with
We don’t sell your data. We don’t share it for advertising. It reaches third parties only where they provide a service we need:
- Our hosting provider, which stores the site and generates server logs
- Our email service provider, if you subscribe to the newsletter
- Spam filtering, if comments are enabled, which processes comment metadata
- Affiliate networks, which receive referral data when you click an affiliate link, as described above
We may also disclose information where legally required.
How long we keep it
Contact form messages are kept while they’re useful for the conversation and any follow-up, then deleted. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Comments are kept indefinitely unless you ask us to remove them. Server logs follow our host’s retention schedule.
Your rights
If you’re in the UK or EU, the GDPR gives you the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these, contact us through the contact page. We’ll respond within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled a request, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
Readers elsewhere may have similar rights under local law. Ask us and we’ll deal with the request the same way regardless of where you are.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children and we don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and access to the systems behind it is restricted. No website can promise perfect security, but we don’t store payment details, and we don’t hold any sensitive personal data.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes materially, we’ll update the date at the top and note what changed. Adding analytics or any new tracking technology counts as material, and we’ll say so rather than quietly amending.
